RAWALPINDI: Weekly reading of Mian Muhammad Bakhsh’s Saiful Malook
will be held every Saturday on 6 pm at Academy Zawiya, 105 A, Behind 6th
Road Wagon Stop, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi.Mian Muhammad Bakhsh
(1830-1907) is one of the most famous Punjabi Sufi poets. He wrote 18
books, all in the Punjabi language except one in Persian. His most
popular book is Safrul Ishq (the journey of Divine Love), publicly known
as Saiful Malook. The book consists of 9,249 couplets in total.
Professor Saeed Ahmad, who is presently translating the book into
English, will recite the poetry. Each week he will read a few couplets
from the book and elaborate their meaning.
